About Dottie

Dottie grew up in Northern Ohio, near Cleveland. Her love for writing began in a high school AP English class. She was required to write many, many papers each week. As difficult as it was to write, by hand, every week - it was even more difficult to keep up with the content demands these papers required. Most of the papers were responses to literary questions or opinions of a book. Some papers, however, required much more thought and imagination. They required original ideas and were basically short stories. All of this hard work forced Dottie expand her mind and use it in new and different ways.

Dottie went on to The Ohio State University where she majored in Strategic Communications and Spanish. She took a few writing classes and the Communications major required a lot of writing and study on AP style, marketing, copy writing, editing, etc.

After undergrad, Dottie got a job. Something that she liked but not something that she loved. She began thinking of stories in her head but never putting them on paper. She began her Master's program at Ohio University and during her long drives from Columbus to Athens, she began plotting the storylines in her head.

Dottie's wonderful husband purchased her a MacBook Pro during her postgraduate years. Dottie adored her new computer and spent as much time on it as she could. She loved typing and working on it so much that one night, she decided to put her story down on paper. Actually, she typed it on the laptop, but still - it left her mind and found it's way to a more concrete place.

Dottie and her husband found new jobs, had two sons, and continued their lives.

During the next ten years, Dottie would continue to write and write and write. Sometime she worked on full novels, sometimes she wrote short stories. She even worked on song lyrics for a while. Most of her writing time happened, late at night - long after everyone had gone to sleep. She would blast music and drink wine and write her heart out.

In early 2021, one of the people closest to Dottie suggest she watch a television series. Dottie and her husband watched the first episode and it was very, very similar to the storyline of the first book Dottie ever wrote. A fire was ignited inside of her and she started her self-publishing career.

Dottie loves every aspect of the self-publishing life. She loves writing and creating her books. She also makes her own covers, manages her social media, and does her own marketing.

Dottie still maintains a full-time job, outside of writing. She also loves spending time with her husband and sons. Her boys are involved with sports and other extracurricular activities. As a family, they love to go on hikes, ride bikes, shoot hoops, play golf, watch movies, go to Cedar Point, eat at new places, and try anything new and exciting.

Dottie and her husband have been together since high school. Her husband is a loving, attentive man that can fix anything and is the best cook Dottie knows. She and him love to visit breweries, go on walks or runs, play euchre, travel, and visit new places.

Personally, Dottie is a Type 1 Diabetic that loves to participate in races (5K - half marathon only), workout on her Mirror, read, laugh, and drink wine. She is a woman that values fun and freedom to be herself above anything else.
